Is it worth building a concrete pool?

Concrete pool construction is the conventional method of pool construction and is a process that needs effective guidance and proper planning. For this reason, it is a process that displays many peculiarities. The basic stages for the construction of a concrete pool are the following:

  1. Engraving and excavation. Based on a plan and section plan, the dimensions and depth of the pool at this stage are determined.
  2. Laying of metal mesh
  3. Next are the hydraulic waits, the piping, the installation of the lights and branches, the perimeter networks (if the pool is overflowing) and hydraulic components which will be covered with concrete.
  4. Placing molds
  5. Concreting
  6. Insulation and waterproofing
  7. Placing concrete
  8. Final stage (Interior linings, painting, insulation, pool waterproofing, installation of marble skirting boards, landscaping, etc.)

The first and foremost reason to choose a concrete pool construction is that it is intended for one's own use
Owner. Clearly a concrete pool is more durable than any other pool construction. The aesthetics part is also a great reason to choose a concrete pool, as we have options in shape and dimensions.

The construction of a concrete pool is indicated for cases such as the construction of a pool for a municipal or private swimming pool for the sports needs of groups or the public. In these cases the pools needed are of large dimensions and according to the needs of the athletes. For this reason, the construction must be done based on the conventional way.

Another case where a concrete pool needs to be built is in large hotel units. Many times hotels need to have many types of swimming pools to satisfy even the most demanding customers.

Of course, sometimes the complexity of the process for issuing a permit and the cost do not leave room for us to easily choose a pool made of concrete. Likewise, the case that the swimming pool is not intended for the Owner's own use, but for direct rental several times, is also an inhibiting factor, so we want the process to be simpler.

When the construction of concrete pools is not suitable, prefabricated pools and especially polyester pools are usually preferred. The installation of these pools does not require planning permission, only a simple engineering study and a responsible statement from the engineer that everything is as it should be.
